Wimbledon 2024: Emma Raducanu Shocks Maria Sakkari
Emma Raducanu, the British tennis star, defeated Maria Sakkari of Greece in the third round of Wimbledon on Friday.
The match, which lasted two hours and 16 minutes, saw Raducanu win in three sets: 6-4, 3-6, 6-3.
Raducanu, who is currently ranked world number 11, is the first British woman to reach the third round of Wimbledon since Johanna Konta in 2017. She will now face world number 123 qualifier Lulu Sun in the fourth round.
The match between Raducanu and Sun will take place on Tuesday, July 5, at 1000 UTC. It will be broadcast live on ESPN 3.
